Argentina (9/2 with William Hill) have the best team in the World Cup. They are in great shape to take advantage if Brazil falter and become world champions for the third time.
Lionel Messi was voted the best player in the world for four years before Cristiano Ronaldo won the honour this year. In Sergio Aguero Argentina also have one the best strikers in the world who has taken his game to a new level since joining Manchester City. They are solid in midfield and defence but outstanding in the final third of the field.
There will be huge pressure on Brazil (3/1 with bet365) to produce the results to unite a divided nation. There have been protests on the streets opposing the amount of investment on infrastructure for the World Cup and Rio Olympics in two years time.
Neymar is the poster boy of the tournament and he must be at his best if Brazil are to win the World Cup for the sixth time. He has scored 30 goals in 47 matches for his country.
Spain (13/2 with Ladbrokes) are the defending champions and have won the last two Euros. However the main men in midfield are four years older and the World Cup in Brazil could be one tournament too far.
Germany (7/1 with BetVictor) are looking to build on their efforts from 2010. The nucleus of the side plays for Bayern Munich but they have had a dip in form after securing the league title in Germany.
England (28/1 with BetVictor) go into the tournament with little expectation and that could work in their favour. They have a tough group but can take control of the section by beating Italy in their first game. Lose that match and the pressure to beat Uruguay will be too much and England could be coming home early. Or England could win the World Cup!
