The European Tour reconvenes this week with the Johnnie Walker Championship. The tournament is being played on the Centenary Course at Gleneagles where the Ryder Cup is played next year. Only two players from Europe’s winning side from last year have entered, Francesco Molinari and Paul Lawrie. The quality of the field as suffered from the clash with the start of the FedEx Cup on the PGA Tour.

Stephen Gallacher combines a solid bank of current form with a consistent record on this week’s host course. Marc Warren is also suited to the layout and arrives in Scotland on the back of a top 20 finish in the PGA Championship. Bernd Wiesberger has an ideal game for course conditions this week.

Warren has enough in his profile to beat Simon Dyson over 72 holes. Brett Rumford is a multiple winner this season whose poor current form is offset by positive memories of the course and the skills required for good scoring, enough to outscore Anders Hansen. Rafael Cabrera-Bello has the better credentials than his opponent, Ross Fisher.
