Really like the look of Mick Easterby’s BE LUCKY in the opener at Redcar. The 4yo has only had 3 racecourse starts, and improved with each outing, taking a 5f maiden at Beverley in August last year to add to two decent pervious efforts. The 2nd that day is 1213 since and the pair were 3L of the field suggesting the selection could be well in on her handicap debut today. There is obvioulsy a question to answer about her 233 day layoff (neither the trainer or sire have gleaming stats in the department) but she ran well enough on her debut to suggest that that shouldn’t necessarily prohibit a bet. SHIRLEY’s PRIDE looks the main danger, she goes well on GF and is in good nick.
