My 2 best mates Abi the Lab who is now 9 and Tess who is a old lady and very poorly 14 so wont be around to much for a while as concentrating on my girls. Keep picking winners team as i’m sure to look in.
Aww bless old Tess. My dog Jasper is coming up for 13 next, still very active but he’s knocking on a bit. Going to adopt another one soon and get him a wee girlfriend for his old age. Hope to see you back soon.
Tess was until recently 3 walks a day but took a turn for the worse recently. Has cancer and not long to live. Could try chemo but at her age putting her through that plus the fact it’s terminal would drag things out. She has had a good life and now its time to treat her like a queen and man up when the time comes to say goodbye.
Sure your Jasper would think all his xmas have come at once getting him a girlfriend in. Don’t think ill get anymore dogs. Bloody heart ache when they have been so loyal. May look into fostering some that dont cope to well in kennels until they find a more permanent home.
So sorry to hear about Tess, it’s awfully sad when they have to leave us, at least we can give them good, loving homes, they are the lucky ones.
Still looking for a girlfriend for Jasper, saw a lovely staffy called Betty yesterday looking for a forever home. She is very nervous bless her and I volunteered to take her but not sure how she is with other dogs, even though Jasper is a big soft lump. He would love it. Will also consider fostering too but looking for another permanent one first. They are such good company, better than humans I find lol
I have a Collie who is now in his 19th year sleeps all day, has bad eyes & struggles to hear properly, but when he’s awake he’s still lively, unreal he’s lived to that ripe old age. I got a 2nd dog 3 years ago when he looked on his way out & it perked him up again. don’t know if it was the competition or the companionship but its worked a treat.

Wow, 19 years old, that’s some age. Maybe there is something in getting them a companion for old age, keeps them young.
